Dr Rina Routray is an Odisha-based well-recognized social activist and adviser to some of the most invaluable entities in women's empowerment, sustainable development, and welfare of the community. Through Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan Odisha, since the year 2019 engaged enthusiastically in the women's movement for rights and socio-economic independence of women. She bases her effort on seeing a self-reliant, gender-equal society whereby women get adequate opportunities and resources to accomplish their goals in personal and professional life.
The whole work of Dr. Routray is to educate women, provide them job opportunities, and render them into entrepreneurship in Odisha. Her initiatives break down the existing barriers in society and allow the women to be financially independent. Such programs under the Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan will cover skill development, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial training. Programs that will change the lives of thousands of women, helping them overcome constraints set by society and realize their potential.
Dr. Routray wants to see a gender-equal society where women get equal opportunities. Her programs have empowered women to pursue their ambitions and break all barriers of traditional roles and limitations, hence creating pathways for long-term socio-economic independence. In fact, the commitment of Dr. Routray toward the rich tradition of Odisha pertaining to handloom and handicrafts is second to none in its essence. She realises the cultural and economic importance these crafts possess and hence worked towards giving these artisans a better platform. She has therefore been able to bring the creations into the mainstream. Her advocacy marked the beginning of Odisha's handloom products reaching out to domestic and global markets. According to her, the traditions, though there, should thrive in modern times.
She has also collaborated with institutions such as the World Trade Center Bhubaneswar and K3 Ladies Club in providing a platform for the handloom artisans to showcase their work. Her initiatives have generated awareness about the importance of handloom in Odisha's socio-cultural and economic milieu, hence giving artisans the recognition and markets that they so rightly deserve.

Along with her work among women and artisans, Dr. Routray crusades for gender equality. She strongly crusades against domestic violence, child marriage, and injustice against women. Her mission aims at dismantling those patriarchal structures standing as stumbling blocks to their rights and opportunities and at building a society where women equally receive justice and resources.
She too encompasses a cherish for natural maintainability. She calls for eco-friendly hones in concordance with social and financial advancement. By her commitment to the presentation of green innovations and feasible employments, Dr. Routray is making a difference Odisha's improvement to be dynamic and naturally capable.
