Basudev Bhatta,"commonly known as Bapi" born in (29 January 1973) is a social leader, students leader of early 1990's and serving as Chairman of Odisha Parent's Federation (Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha) i.e OAM from 2018, earlier represented as Member of Zilla Parishad, Khordha Dist. under Bhubaneswar LokSabha. He was also the Chairman of Education, Sports and Culture for 5 years in Khordha Dist. He was elected Dist. Planning Committee Member from (2007-2012), then Nominated by Dept. Of Planning and Convergence in 2018-2022, He is representing as Vice-President of the Parents Association of India.
Basudev Bhatta was born in a lower middle class family in village Alisi Bindha, Block-PS-Balipatana, under Bhubaneswar Sub-Division in the State of Odisha. His father Ramachandra Bhatta, was serving as Sr. Clerk in Health Dept. died in 2010. Earlier Basudev Bhatta was officially adopted by Subal Charan Bhatta, who was a farmer and died in 2021. His mother is named Bhanumati Bhatta, adopted mother Tanulata Bhatta are staying in his native village. He married Madhusmita Das, in 2009, who is a Boutique designer. Two daughters Ms Shreetika and Shrashvee Bhatt, are studding in DPS Kalinga, Bhubaneswar.
Basudev Bhatta was an active member of National Students Union of India-NSUI, worked as General Secretary of Odisha State NSUI early 1998. He was actively worked in Indian Youth Congress under leadership of Rahul Gandhi in different posts. Nominated DRO, LRO and PRO in Indian Youth Congress for the State of Punjab, Gujurat, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and contributed his best to the Congress Party up to 2012. He then elected as Member of Zilla Parishad in 2007.

He was handling campaign for the 1996, 1998, 2000, 2004 Indian general election for Puri and Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha. In 1996-2004 he helped organise the Puri MP's entire constituency and election. He then elected as Member of Zilla Parishad in 2007. He left Political field in 2014 and entered in social field full time. He decided to return to his State and work for the marginalised sections. So he joined Lutheran World Service(LWS) an international organization working for the development of rural & tribal upliftment. He had successfully dealt with many issues andengaged himself in relief and rehabilitation work during the super cyclone in Odishathe year 1999 and earthquake in Gujarat in 2001.
